    • Supervising inmates: Oversee daily routines, activities, and movements of inmates to ensure safety and security.
    • Security checks: Regular inspections of facilities, cells, and inmate belongings are conducted to prevent contraband and maintain a secure environment.
    • Enforcing rules: Enforce facility rules and regulations, addressing violations and taking appropriate disciplinary action.
    • Responding to emergencies: Trained to respond to emergencies, maintain control during crises, and provide assistance to inmates in need.
    • Inmate counts: Regularly perform inmate counts and headcounts to ensure accountability. 
    • Record keeping: Maintain accurate records of inmate activities, incidents, and other relevant information.
    • Facilitating communication: Assist inmates in communicating with their families, legal representatives, and other relevant parties.
    • Inmate well-being: Coordinate with medical staff to ensure the health and welfare of inmates.
    • Transporting inmates: Assist in transporting inmates to other facilities or court appearances. 
    • Processing new inmates: Admitting inmates into the facility, conducting intake procedures, and verifying identification.
    • Serving meals: Overseeing the distribution of meals to inmates and ensuring they are properly fed.
    • Supervising cleaning: Overseeing the cleaning of the jail facility and ensuring it’s maintained.
    • Answering phones and radio traffic: Responding to calls and radio communications, coordinating with other departments.
